Left early to get to work this morning. It was raining pretty hard and now I'm a little concerned about my fellow drivers along the way (re: recent nudge on the highway), so I decided to give myself some extra time to make my way. No problems though. Except this idiot who was driving, like, 2 inches behind me. Hate that. Common though. I know what they're thinking though. "If I drive really close behind them, they'll go faster! Ha ha! I'm a psychology genius!" I know people think this because I've thought this. Especially the genius part. But it doesn't work, does it? Do people you're shopping with, shop faster when you push merchandise into their back? Does someone using the phone you want to use talk faster because you're shoving the receiver into their ear? No. Not really. And if they do, it's because they want to get to beating the crap out of you earlier. So it is with driving. Motto: back off or go around. And chill.
Yeah, my umbrella DID snap inside out and break in the wind this morning and now I'm pissed off... What's it to you?

The little bang...
Had a car accident yesterday morning.
No, no... I'm ok. It was just a minor little nudge by some lady changing lanes without looking. We were both ok and there was very little damage done to either vehicle. Of course, when it happened and got off the highway to deal with it, neither of us knew what to do at all. Eventually, the police were told and everything will be sorted out of course, but these little excursions from routine are always interesting. It's a shock, kicking you out of your regular path, making you think (which none of us are accustomed to...), but hopefully, just hopefully, you can learn something from it.
I can't wait until I don't have to drive for two hours to and from work everyday... Moving into our house at the beginning of next month! Woohoo!

Finally...
Ok. Here's an update. It has been quite a while, hasn't it? Well, I've been busy, ok? I finished up in New Jersey/NYC with all the packing and arranging and cleaning and job and whatnot and moved up to the not-so-frozen North.
I'm living with my parents (shut up...) for the VERY short term. We've actually managed to buy a house, can you believe it? It's a small house (I'll put up pictures eventually, maybe...) but it's infinitely larger than the 0 square foot, one bedroom apartment me, my wife, and my two children were living in. We'll never do that again. Move-in date is somewhere in the beginning of October. The little woman wants to paint a little (the walls, you perverts...) so we'll do that before we move in. Boy, will the commute be better (currently driving for approximately 1.5 hours).
The job is great. I've got so much more work (and more interesting work) here as compared to my previous job (Bracken Health Sciences Library at Queen's University in Kingston, ON as compared to the Cyber Center at Queen's Public Library in NYC).
More later...
