Let override, let overwrite...

Finished this very excellent work called "The Sky so Big and Black" by John Barnes. This is, on the surface, a story about a young girl and some of the difficult things she experiences while growing up, albeit along with her father roaming the surface of Mars. Before the story ends you are treated with a fascinating tale of social progress and the nature of humanity and individuality. Both layers are entertaining.

One of the best things about being a librarian, huh? :) I've been sucked into the sci-fi void, too, lately, but I'm fairly frustrated; our university library here doesn't even have "Rendezvous With Rama." :(

Aw. :) I've just recently been sucked into the scifi genre myself. Kinda sucks how our university library doesn't even have "Rendezvous With Rama." :(

I've always loved science fiction... My favourite author is Isaac Asimov despite the fact that he's not the best writer in the world. In fact, that's probably one of the reasons I like his work. He is (or was) forced to rely on content worth rather than flowery writing and complex characters to keep his readers interested, which in my opinion is more important in science fiction. It's about the ideas and what you do with them. I also LOVE sci-fi short stories!!!
