The new frontier...

Working hard on getting prepared for my interview on Tuesday for the "Web Development Librarian" position here at Queen's University. I've even come in on Saturday to work. (It's very difficult to work with my kids distracting me every few minutes.) But it's fun though. The presentation I've been asked to do is something that I might have written on anyway: Web 2.0 and Library 2.0. And of course, what should we do to get there. That's my favourite part. Coming up with new ideas, using new technologies and new concepts, and figuring out how it will work, whether it's web design, reference librarianship, or whatever. It's great to be learning new things and creating.

Speaking of new (well sorta), I've finally got the next book in the Wheel of Time series from the library. And I can't even read it yet! (See above for where I'm spending any free time I have.) But soon.

I've submitted a bunch of things so far and now I have to play the waiting game. I've submitted the article I wrote on IM reference to the Journal of Hospital Librarianship. Waiting to hear back from them. I submitted my review of "Managing E-learning Strategies" to Queen's U's new online journal: "Canadian Online Library and Archivists Journal" or "COLAJ". That shouldn't be a long wait. I even submitted a sample of better web design to the Friends of KFPL to see if they'll let me rework their site (for free no less) and they're taking their time getting back to me. But I'm optimistic. Something will come through.

Oh, I'm also waiting to hear from the lottery people that I've won 17 million dollars. Ummm... Yeah. I expect to hear from them REAL soon. *laugh*

Don't worry about the interview you'll do great you were already doing that stuff here.

I can also see how busy and stressed out you are, you accidently posted this entry three times. :)

Thanks for the support and thanks for pointing out the repetition (that was blogger's fault, not mine! - I've deleted them now.)

anytime.

I also thought that you were trying to see if people were reading your blog, and if they would notice it. :)
